Sami Sam - 4yrs!!
But better late than never. :D
My Beautiful Sweet Samantha;
I love you so very much! More than life itself! You are my very sweet very special one and only Sami Leigh. You are such a big part of me little girl.
I can't believe I have a 4yr old!!
You have always been so smart for your age, (you talk like a 15yr old) ;)
You have the BEST memory!! You know all the words to just about every primary song I can sing. You have me sing it a few times to you and then just jump in with all the right words and usually to the best tune. You amaze me!
You love LOVE love your little brothers! If either one is crying you are almost always more than happy to sing/talk to them to get them to stop. You are so patient with Roo. He's been getting on your nerves more lately as he's getting older and liking to do what you do more, but you're very patient and remind him all the time that he's just a baby and doesn't understand so you cant get mad at him. I smile all the time watching you tell him who's the "grown-up".
You are so very social everytime I turn around you have more and more "friends" sometimes I worry about this whole "no talking to strangers" bit. Last Sunday I came back to sacrament from feeding Luke to find you gone. Daddy said you went out to get me, and being the mature 4yr old you are, he let you go... needless to say I found you just before church got out playing on the stage with some older kids from the other ward. You told me you came to find me but found new friends instead. (UGH!!) Then while at a restaurant with family you decided to take it upon yourself to find the waitress and tell her you needed frosting on your pie. Thank goodness she brought you back after you told her. You're showing me how much more vigilant we need to be in watching you sweet daughter.
You started dance this fall. You love your new friends, but we've had to remind you quite a few times that you go to learn to dance not to play games. Your teachers are very good with you and encourage not throwing a fit when things don't go your way ;D We're trying to work on that a lot at home as well lately.
You are very vigilant about saying your prayers every night, its refreshing for me to see that maybe I'm not failing completely in raising you if at least your praying. But sometimes, like today, you prayed for Heavenly Father to please bless you to play out in the snow.... sneaky little stinker!
"but mom, I blessed Heavenly FaZer (not sp error) to let me play out in the snow!"
You still have "Boobie" and now "That" as well whom are your very bestest of friends but sometimes (a lot) tend to get you in trouble by telling you to do naughty things. (we're still working on how to punish them)
Anyway, I do love you so much my sweet Sami Sam!! (and all your many mood swings and personalities as well!!)

Lucas Osro Jensen
I went to the hospital at 10am to get started into labor. My doc was just getting back from Maui and we had to wait until he called before I could be given the pit. He called just before 11 while getting his luggage and said to go ahead and start me. Everything was going good for about an hour before my nurse (Laurel is an angel!!!) came in to check on everything and the baby's heart rate started dropping. It was low for about 4 minutes while we tried changing positions and stopping the pit and everything to get that heart beating good again then she called in two other nurses and things quickly got serious. The doc who was covering for mine wasn't answering his pages, Guy (my doc) was just barely getting to his house and my baby was not doing good. The next hour was probably the worst of my life. Everything went bad really fast. I knew things were serious when Laurel started getting teary. They put an electrode thing in the babies scalp to monitor the heart better and broke my water. Then they rushed me to the O.R. where they took my verbal consent to start prepping for a C-section. They pumped me full of so many drugs and fluids so fast to try and get the baby to respond that I was shaking all over and freezing. They also put in a catheter, and they had to do all of this without me getting any pain reliever because there just wasn't enough time. By the time the doctors came in the drugs had done their job and the heart rate was back up. We opted to wait a little and see if I could labor. We stayed in the OR , where Lance was finally scrubbed up and allowed to join me, for about a half hour before they decided to let me go back to my room. We only lasted in the room for a few minutes before the entire ordeal started again. By the time the C-section was started the spinal block they had given me started wearing off but they had to hurry and get the baby out and didn't dare give me another one. So it started and everything was fine for the first part but then I started feeling everything A LOT more than I should. It was so excruciating they finally gave me something to knock me out. The rest of the day/night was pretty much a blur for me. I found out I had a baby boy and that he was just fine besides being small, which was miraculous considering his cord was not only in a knot but it was wrapped around his neck 5 times. The doctors and nurses were all calling him the miracle baby. He was famous to everyone for our entire stay. They call him the "nuckle 5" or something like that. It is clear to everyone that he was ment to be here even against all odds. My Lucky Luke!! He is so special!! He was 5lbs 6ozs 18" long. We went home when he was 5lbs even and at his 1week appt he weighed in at 5.13!!! WaHoo!! He's making up for being starved in the womb I'm sure! Everything looks good now. He's doing so good and his brother and sister just love him to death!! Sami holds him all the time and Andrew wouldn't stop kissing his head all this morning!
Anyway ... this is how my sweet Lucas came into this world. Hopefully its a lot smoother sailing from here on out :D

ROO B DOO
They say we can now start the long and tedius process of regrowing all that skin. ... ugh! The surgeon was really clear that he didn't want me thinking I was all done. We don't need to go back down unless I have questions or concerns or if he burns (sun) or opens up those wounds again. But now we worry about the scarring. I have to keep his hand clean and lotioned up all day and massage and stretch it as his skin grows. He can't even think about going outside w/out spf 50 on that hand they said so I'm doing that and trying my hardest not to let it get too dirty. (impossible) I also need to really watch him because the skin that is there is really thin and new (like a brand new baby) and can tear and break open really easy so we cant let him fall and scrape it or anything because we'll have to start the whole process of cleaning and wrapping it everyday again just to make sure we don't get infection. I know I know this all sounds really easy ... especially if you know my calm, quiet kid that will just sit for hours reading a book or watching a show. ;D infact its so easy that the first day having it unwrapped he fell face first onto our porch catching himself with that hand and then later had his fingers in the sliding glass door my carefull daughter was shutting. O ya this is definately less stressful not having to wrap his hand everyday. (NOT)
Anywho ... I'll get some unwrapped pics up soon so everyone can see how far we've come in less than a month!! Wish us luck ... and if anyone knows of a plastic bubble I can put my baby in please let me know =D

SUMMER
So here's what we Jensen's have been up to....
Sami, Andy and I took swim lessons at the first of June. It was fun!! The kids love getting wet, and I discovered Andrew will snuggle if the water is cold ;D PLUS I wasn't the only prego mom there ... I was the only prego mom with a baby as young as Andrew. =)
Over the 4th of July Lance and I took the kids to Bear Lake to boat and whatnot with his family. It was fun, Sami loved hanging out with her 2nd cousins and playing with them on the boat and bunk beds and everywhere else. Andrew wasn't a BIG fan of the boat rides, he liked it for a bit but quickly got bored. We would've played in the sand and water more except the water was so cold Lance claimed he needed to go through puberty again after his first jump in. (TMO?) :D That Saturday we also stopped by the Woodruff house to help my cousins and siblings put up my grandpa's fence. It was fun but I eventually stopped trying to help at all when the guys just kept messing up my smoothing efforts over and over to get the fence even. :D Everyone worked really hard though and I'm happy we were able to do this for grandpa and grandma ... I just wish we could've come earlier and felt more useful. That Monday after we got home my sister planned a slip-n-slide BBQ at my parents house It was LOADS of fun!! we had lots of good food and good company and the kids always love getting wet and watching fireworks. We did have some drama getting there since Lance and I found a kid who fell off his bike and was having seizures in the middle of the road. Luckily Lance went and got my mom while I stayed with the boy and we got the paramedics there fairly quickly. Scarey thing!
The next weekend was my families vacation to Moab!! We rented cabins down there and had a blast (for the most part). We went 4wheeling, to a chuck wagon dinner and show, and did some sight seeing at hole N the rock. The kids loved the petting zoo (even though it was more of a feeding zoo than petting.) And although it was hot and the pregnant lady on the trip got cranky it was a fun trip, EXCEPT for: Bed Bugs in Shay and Kyle's cabin, scrapes, bruises, black eyes (Haylee) and Andrew burning his hand on the 4wheelers. (UGH)!!
So for our next family vacation I propose we avoid anything that might result in someone having to do all their laundry or months of physical therapy at a burn clinic ... yes?!? (I will definately be watching my little monkey a LOT closer from now on.) Thank goodness uncle Clay was paying better attention then mommy and stopped Andrew's hand from burning any more!!
I'll post more and keep you updated on little Roo's burn progress. But here are some pics for the summer thus far ...
ENJOY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROO!!
Tonight is the big guys birthday party. We're hoping it will warm up a bit so we can have it at the park ... otherwise there is going to be a lot of people crammed into my little home ;D
Since its his day I decided to post some of my favorite things about little Andrew Lance Jensen...
* I love the way he smiles and scrunches up his nose!! SO CUTE
* I love that he's a flirt ... constantly
* I love that he's a destroyer ... yes I actually do ... it gets a little tiresome some times, but its so adorable the way he's constantly busy. Sometimes I just follow him around for a while, when he's going room to room destroying things, and just laugh!
* I love that he LOVES his sister. She can do anything and he'll laugh.
* I love his laugh
* I love his hugs ... he only gives a few and only when he wants to so I live them up every time he'll dish them out!
* I love his kisses/attacks. He's definitely going to be a ladies man with moves like those. ;)
* I love that he can make his bottom lip either completely disappear or protrude depending on his mood.
* I love that he has his daddy's crooked smile when he's getting in trouble.
* I love that he's trying out jumping before he even gets walking perfected!
* I love that he growls at everyone ... my little weirdo ;D
* I love that through 6 years and 8 grandkids only two of them have caused grief with grandpa's pool balls. ;D
There are millions of other little things that I absolutely LOVE about my little man!! But I have a lot to do today and can't possibly post them all. I will get on later and post some pics of the party ...if I don't forget my camera. Wish us luck!
