He's Here!!

Andrew Lance Jensen 7lbs 8oz!!
He's beautiful and healthy and I love him so much!
So Monday morning Lance and I woke up early to go up to the hospital. We got there around 6am checked in and got started on pitocin "pit". It was great. I was so nervous everyone that knew I was getting started either had themselves been started or knew of someone who had and it was rarely a good story, they claimed it was a harder longer labor and I should just wait until the baby decides to come on his own. Well we didn't and let me tell you . . . my water was broke around 8ish and although i had to have two epidurals I was numb by 10:50 and the baby came at 11:59 as predicted by my nurse (before noon). It was the best labor and delivery anyone could hope for. Besides contracting for a little longer than I wanted given the two epis and being FAR too numb when it was time to finally push it was great! and the healing is already a thousand times better than it was with Sami . . . to this I credit my wonderful Midwife. He even had to fix a few things that had gone wrong while I was healing with Sami and still I was up and about just a few hours after the numbing wore off. But everything is great, we've had some minimal latching on problems but even my milk came in last night and I still feel wonderful!

Ok so enough about me lets talk about Andy . . . He's adorable! He looks a lot like Sami did (so cute!) He does have cross-eyes but I think that just adds to his charm! He sleeps more than Sami did and isn't as alert as she was but all and all a good little man. He eats like a champ and poops like one too. Everyone that meets my little guy falls instantly in love. He has hardly cried a peep but when he does Sami is sure to tell me and be right there holding his hand and patting his head saying "is ok Andwew I'm here" she is such a great big sister. She loves him already and although she does like her attention she's actually not been too bad (knock on wood). She doesn't however like her grandpa and great-grandpa to hold baby brother. She tells them "you gotta put him back" (in his bouncer) when she's had enough. Everyone came up to the hospital to meet little Andy and my big girl nieces were so adorable with him. Breq and Syd are actually really good at holding him pretty much by themselves so long as someone is sitting with them. They were all very cute. Sorry Cam that you're still a little too young to hold the baby all by yourself even though you think you're quite the adult. :) Thanks everyone for your support and love and all the cute little presents you got for our little guy. I love my family!!

BABY NEWS!!

So today I went in for another appointment. It was my 38 week appointment and since I opted to forgo the cervical exam last week I had no choice but to endure it this week . . . .UGH!! Lets just say it was a painful and depressing appointment. The little guy is still snuggled up so much with my placenta or bladder that we can never get a good picture of his face so far we've only ever seen about half at a time, so we can only assume he wont be funny looking . . . kidding. Anyway my doctor said this when I asked how dilated I was "a little" I said what exactly does that mean and he told me its what they say when they don't want the moms to get discouraged. Nice huh!?
So anyway, we'll be getting started next Monday. May 4th 2009!! yay there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! ;) We have to go in on Sunday for a fun little procedure, I wont get into, that will help me dilate and then hopefully when we go in on Monday I'll be far enough that the labor wont be too long. Although I think the doctors definition and mine on TOO long is relative. We're excited though. I'm a little disappointed I was hoping that he would decide to come on his own before we get started but this appointment has squashed that hope. O well, I'll take the little guy as soon as I can get him! Now all that's left to do it figure out a babysitter for Sami Sam, pack and bag and . . . what else . . . . oh ya . . . come up with a name for "baby brother". ;-) I think we can handle the first two but that last one is seriously stumping us. I think I may just have to veto Lance's naming ability and secretly fill out the Birth Certificate myself while he's occupied elsewhere.

Well, here's the last good pictures we got of our shy little guys face . . Yes we know he has huge lips! Also you'll notice his tongue is sticking out in one of the pictures, that would be because he is licking the side of his sac that is up against my bladder . . .yes my bladder! My doc insists this isn't as gross as it sounds he says it probably means he'll be an excellent nurser!!

EASTER!

I know this is kind of a late post, but our Easter was really nice this year. Sami's a little older so she had more fun dying and hunting eggs than she has before. Even though when she started out the egg hunt she was being picky with which egg she would put in her basket making her and the other 2yr old the very last ones hunting. It was so much fun to watch her, I don't think I had as much fun hunting eggs when I was younger as I did this year watching all the kids! We had a nice dinner with my parents, Mistie and her girls. It was a very peaceful dinner with Lance being the only guy besides dad there. No offense boys! It was really nice to be able to remember why we celebrate Easter and all that our Savior has done for each of us. I am truly grateful for my family and for how close we all are.
I hope everyone's holiday was just as special.
